The Story Behind Erin’Spirational Crafts
Hi there! I’m Erin, the heart and hands behind Erin’Spirational Crafts. Thank you so much for stopping by my shop!
What started as a creative outlet has grown into something truly meaningful — a way for me to inspire others through handmade, personalized pieces that bring joy, comfort, and connection. I started in 2019 when my 7-year-old son was diagnosed with Pre-B cell acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). During his treatment, crafting became my stress relief and emotional outlet, giving me strength and purpose through a very difficult time. As a Black, woman, and veteran-owned small business based in Baltimore, Maryland, I take pride in crafting every item with care and purpose.
From laser-cut home décor and engraved keepsakes to custom t-shirts, door signs, and holiday ornaments, each piece is made to celebrate life’s special moments — big or small. I love turning your ideas into something tangible and unique, so if you have a vision that’s not listed, let’s make it happen together!
Every order supports a dream, a community, and a mission to spread creativity and inspiration one craft at a time. I ship throughout the U.S. and also offer local delivery or pickup for those nearby.
Thank you for being part of this journey — your support truly means the world to me.
The Journey Behind the Maker
Now that you’ve learned a little about why I started Erin ’Spirational Crafts, I’d love to share a little more about me.
I grew up in a small town in Ohio called Xenia. Because of my love for both art and math, I decided to attend Tennessee State University, where I majored in Architectural Engineering. During my junior year, I joined the U.S. Navy’s Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program (BDCP) — a pathway that allowed eligible college students to earn their degrees while preparing to become commissioned Naval Officers.
In 2002, I graduated from TSU and headed to Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. After earning my commission, my Navy career took me to Port Hueneme, CA, Millington, TN, Camp Pendleton Navy Hospital, and eventually Baghdad, Iraq. After serving on active duty and spending two additional years as a reservist, I made the decision to resign my commission and begin my civilian career.
In 2007, I joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where I continued to use my engineering background to serve my country in a new way. Later that same year, I met Khia Carrington, and we fell in love. In June 2008, we were married in Santa Ana, California. A few years later, in 2012 and 2014, we welcomed our two wonderful children, Ethan and Emery, who have brought so much joy and purpose to our lives.
Fast forward to today, our family enjoys spending time together through arts and crafts, family gatherings, and traveling in our fifth-wheel RV. Whether it’s creating something new in my craft studio or exploring a new place on the road, I’m always inspired by the beauty of creativity, love, and connection — the same values that fuel every creation at Erin ’Spirational Crafts.
